I'm doing a tub to shower conversion and having trouble finding all my fixtures in the same brushed nickel. I am looking for a hand held shower hopefully with a slide bar and pause feature. Also grab bars that don't look like they belong in a hospital. I found the grab bars online in brushed nickel. But can't find the hand held shower with the features I'm wanting. So, I'm asking you guys and gals what type metals can I mix with brushed nickel? If nothing, then what metals are you mixing in your bathroom. If this wasn't all the the same room it wouldn't be so difficult.

Choose either brushed chrome or shiny chrome. If you mix the metals it will look like one fixture broke and you just replaced it with whatever happened to be around.
I may be the outlier, but mixing metals doesn't bother me. I have brushed nickel sink handles in my BR sink and chrome tub fixtures. No one has ever noticed that I know. You could do a color grab bar, like a white or black f you don't want to mix metals. I am much more function over form!

Pghgirl40, I see what you mean but my concern when mixing the metals is they are both in the shower its self. I ordered a really pretty wave grab bar that's brushed nickel, haven't gotten it yet. After your comment I'm thinking going with a chrome handheld shower would look ok. I was leaning towards a handheld shower with slide bar that's a grab bar but that's turning out to be more than I want to pay so I'm probably just going to stick with the handheld shower.

Maybe it is my age (I was big into matchy match when I was much, much younger), but now I find that form over function is so much important and truly unless someone is a designer and has a serious eye for this stuff, there is very little visual differences. The silvery color is the silverly color.
The was only one time in recent history where I walked into someones bathroom and was "jarred" by non matching things...and it was a room that mixed a beautiful copper metal sink with very cheap looking brushed nickel spout and handles. It looked weird. I didn't say anything, but the person volunteered that they were waiting for replacement parts and just did a quick fix because they were having company and didn't want people to have to use the upstairs bath. If that had been their design and they loved it, who was I to find it odd.
