I just purchased this desk for my teenage daughter, who fell in love with the look of the piece while looking for a writing desk. It looks rather old and has plenty of character. It seems to be handmade, at least when looking at the carving detail and irregular dovetailing on the drawers. I can't find any markings at all, nor can I find many similar photos online.
It has several brass straps in a single line up the center/rear, which are blocked at the bottom strap, indicating some type of mount for either a candle holder or additional light feature? The center kneehole is very small and has a small recessed shelf. It also appears that the pulls (single hole mount) may have been replaced with vintage (two hole mount) matching brass pull handles. I am interested in finding out just what I purchased, but am having difficulty finding anything online. Any thoughts?

If the dovetailing is irregular, it was made by hand. If the person who made it did not leave any identifying marks on the piece, you may never know who made it.
What a beautiful one of a kind piece, your daughter is the lucky one. Because this piece seems rare, I would take the photos to a antique dealer for some history in your area .
The desk is very unique. You may want to have it appraised. There may be free appraisals online:
