How can I make a cleaner at home to use in this machine? The commercial cleaners are just too expensive and don't really work.

Making carpet cleaner.
Mix well.
I just got the Bissell Little Green cleaner. Was doing some searching for a possible home cleaning recipe to use in place of the actual cleaner. So I'm going to give this a try and will report back if it was a success or a flop.
Question... Is this cleaner for use on carpets only? Or for any fabric that one is needed to be cleaned? Ex. Chair, matteres, etc...
Question. Are we talking fabric softener or hair conditioner?
Why the conditioner? Seems it would attract dirt.
I'm guessing for softness, but I would skip this.
wtf is "conditioner" not helpful
It's hair conditioner that many people use after shampoo. Probably a bit of body or hand lotion could be used instead.
I tried this formula today and used it my Green machine. It worked great! There was a LOT of very dirty water that was collected in the residue container in the machine as I sucked up the water. I didn't think to empty the dirty water before redoing the chair with plain water.
Baking Soda + Vinegar will cause a reaction and make a mess. I suppose it could oxy clean but to me what it will really do is creat a new chore. Am I right?

Good so far. Just cleaned my love seat. I didn't used the conditioner, but put a few drops of lemongrass essential oils in it. Oh my gosh does it smell good!
This works so well! It even took out 2yo coke stains.
Sprinkle baking soda on the carpet
Step 1
mix up a solution of equal parts warm water and vinegar.
Step 2
Add 5-6 drops of lemon essential oil to your solution, and stir to combine.
Step 3
Pour the vinegar and water solution into the tank of your carpet cleaner.
Step 4
Clean the carpet
