Hot chocolate is one of our favorite morning beverages and we make it at home from fresh harvest cacao beans. The beans are sun dried, cooked and grinded then placed into molds to form blocks or bars of raw unsweetened chocolate. We call them "tablea".
Ingredients:
- 1 cup crushed tablea blocks
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 liter water
- milk (optional)
Steps:
- Crush tablea blocks with a knife. Or if there is an easier way you can think to crush the blocks, much better. Make up to 1 cup crushed tablea.
- Pour a liter of water in a pot. Let it boil or simmer for some time until bubbles form.
- Pour crushed tablea into boiling water.
- Add the sugar.
- Stir mixture occasionally to melt the chocolate and sugar faster.
- You can add a cup of milk or add more sugar depending on your preferred taste. Transfer this in tea pots and serve hot.
Tip: you can place leftovers in popsicle molds to make chocolate popsies.

Wow, that is so neat! I hear fresh cocoa is so creamy that you don't need milk. :)
