I set up a pot of coffee each night. When I wake, I hit the button and it brews. I only drink 1 cup in the morning because I love my iced coffees. Well, if you are frugal like myself, I will not stop and pay $3.50 for a medium iced coffee. I pour it into a pitcher, add my sweetner and what ever spice I feel like having, like 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla extract, almond extract; any flavor you want. I buy all my spices and extracts at "The Dollar Store" You can't beat the price, and always in the fall, you can get pumpkin spice.
When I have stirred everything in the pitcher, I fill my ice cube trays with my coffee mixture. And Wha-Lah! Tomorrow morning, I get my coffee, and put a half cup in the freezer to get it a bit chilled while I am showering. Then I take my coffee ice cubes and make my coffee, No more diluted coffee, or buying a cup of ice at a vendor and you are actually getting 1/3 of a cup of coffee.
Total Time: less than 5 minutes
Yield: 4 cups of coffee, depending on the size of your cooler cup.

I too make my own iced coffee, but I love your idea of pouring coffee into ice cube trays. I always just stuck the cup in the refrigerator or if I was running short on time, in the freezer till it was time for me to leave for work in the afternoon.
