I started making natural laundry detergent in my home, but when I put it in the gallons it separated. What is the cause?

That's normal. You just shake it before using.
This happened to me. I added baking soda to the 3 gallons of water before adding it to my dissolved soap & washing soda/Borax mixture. Best batch I've made so far. Going to try to duplicate tonight!
