Back in the 70s my girlfriend and I had a great recipe for brownies. It came on the Hershey Cocoa can. It was called Honey Bear Brownies. I would love to make these again! Please help if you can. Love to all.

I did a search on Yahoo and this is what I came up with:
Honey Bear Brownies
1/3 Cup Butter3/4 Cup Sugar
1/2 Cup Honey
2 tsp. Vanilla
2 Eggs
1/2 Cup Flour
1/3 Cup Cocoa
1/2 tsp. Salt
1 Cup Nuts
Heat oven to 350°
Cream butter and sugar in small bowl
Blend in honey and vanilla
Add eggs, one at a time beating well after each addition
Combine flour, cocoa and salt
Gradually add to cream mixture
Stir in nuts
Bake 350° for 25 to 30 minutes for 25 to 30 minutes
or until brownies began to pull away from the pan.
Frost if desired
I remember a white/vanilla frosting recipe that came with the honey bear brownie recipe. Anybody have that?
I just went looking for that very recipe and found it. The paper is so old that it has faded and ripped. I remember them as being so good but haven't made them in decades. Hope Sheri finds the recipe she's looking for. Sadly I have no Hershey's chocolate.
1/3 butter creamed
add:
3/4 sugar
1/2 cup honey or light corn syrup
One at a time beat in
2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
Mix and add to the rest of the ingredients
1/2 c. flour
1/3 c. Hershey's chocolate
1/2 t. salt
1 c. nuts
Bake at 350º for 20-30 minutes
The recipe is still on the side of the hershey's coco can.
I was just going to go to the kitchen and get my vintage Hershey's cocoa tin, yes I still use it, it was mom's and I couldn't part with it. The Honey Bear Brownies are the best!
I haven't seen the Honey Bear Brownie recipe on the Hershey's can since the 70's.
Thank you so much to Margaret! I will make them tonight. You are an angel!
I remember making brownies from a Hershey's coco box recipe. I remember it had Karo syrup in it. But I haven't been able to find any with that.
