Hot Sauce for Ants Around Sink

I put a little hot sauce bottle, that was empty, with a small amount of water in the bottom, by the kitchen sink. When I see ants, I shake it on the area and wipe up with paper towel.

I have been happy with the results, so I am going to get a full bottle of it and use it undiluted, and also pour some into my dish soap and water mixture in my spray bottle. I have warned everyone what I have done. Even though I wipe the counter with a dry paper towel or tissue, the ants know it is there somehow.

Hi there, could you clear something up for me. Do you mean that you sprinkle the diluted remains of the hot sauce and not shake the bottle over the area. Unless it a form of rain dance where you stand and shake the bottle .

Second thing , how do you mean you wipe it up . What is it that you are wiping up? I'm hearing that you sprinkle the hot sauce on the porcelain or metal sink and then immediately wipe it up with a paper towel. What's left if you have wiped it up. Are you saying that whatever molecules of sauce remain after you wipe it all up , are enough to ward off the ants. I know this sounds like a snarky comment but trust me its not intended that way. It's just that what you wrote allows for various interpretations .
