My family has a 13 year old neutered German Short-Haired Pointer, a 9 year old neutered Rat Terrier, and a 4 year old spayed Chihuahua/Jack Russel mix.
Anyway, my older brother, to whom the 13 year old was extremely attached, moved 3k miles away, and since then the older 3 dogs have started to use the restroom in the house. #1 and #2 :/
The majority of the time, it's when we leave the house. But, my mom doesn't work so if she leaves it's a maximum of 2 hours. We used to be able to be gone all day, and nothing would happen.
Is this happening because my brother moved out? And, how can we fix it?
Currently we are putting them in crates while we are gone, except the big guy, but, we feel horrible and uncomfortable doing so.

I think you are doing the right thing. You might try a small room for them when you are gone. Sometimes it works as well as a crate (not always) Give them a try every couple weeks to see if things are improving.
