We have always given our dogs treats after they go outside. It has never taken very long for them to catch on. The only setback is that every time they go outside, they come in and sit in front of the cabinet and expect a treat (even if they only go out the patio door and come right back in!). Begging Strips was a favorite of the 3 dogs we trained this way. Good luck. (09/02/2010)
