I dyed my hair last night with the Schwarzkopf amethyst black color. Overall I love it. I just wish it was a little more black rather than burgundy in the light. The red tint always comes through no matter what color I use and I have a natural chestnut color. Is there a way for me to slightly darken it and how soon can I do it?

For permanent dye, two weeks is recommended. If it is not permanent you can dye again right away.
I'd use a semi permanent dye and try it straight away. You'll get the daRker shade without the damage and it will last a good while.
If you like the color, except for the depth, I suggest you reapply the same color. Maybe your hair is resistant or maybe you didn't leave the color on for the full development time or maybe the resulting color is as dark as it gets.
Whatever the reason, don't put a different color over the one you have and like. A second application of the same color should add the depth you want.
If your hair and scalp are in a healthy condition, a 48 hour wait is enough.
If this is a semi permanent color as suggested by the manufacturer's 9 week to fade statement, you should be able to safely reapply the color right away. You should expect some temporary scalp staining.
