If you used a permanent colour you'll need to strip the darker colour. If it's semi you can try to lift it with a permanent lighter colour or bleach. It all depends on what you used and the texture of your hair. You'll want a deep conditioning after, no matter what.

Yes you can, but you will need to first purchase a product called color oops. I've posted a picture of the product you will need below. This can be bought at Walmart, CVS, or Walgreens. It does not damage your hair at all, but it will remove the color you just used and allow you dye it the color you intended.
Be sure to buy the dye you are wanting to use and the color oops at the same time because you will be able to do it in the same day.

Re-dying hair.
- After you have dyed your hair it is recommended that you don't dye it again for 6 to 8 weeks. This can damage your hair.
- It is better to try and remove some of the darker color out of your hair. This can easily be one at home.
- Use a Anti-dandruff shampoo with baking soda. You will use equal parts of baking soda and the shampoo. Mix these together and wash your hair. This works best right after you dye your hair. You should see the results immediately after your hair dries.
- You can also mix Vitiam C tablets in warm water to make a paste. Apply this to your hair and leave it for several hours. Leave this in your hair for an hour. The result of this method are minimal and might produce the results you are looking for. You just want your hair a lighter color and this should help to lighten the dye in your hair.

You do not say how long it has been since the previous dye or if your hair is healthy or if you have some hair issues so you will have to take those things into consideration when reading suggestions.
- It seems professionals have a lot of different opinions about how long to wait before re-dying your hair but most say you should wait at least 4 weeks and longer if your hair is not in very healthy.
- Also, most state it is harder on your hair to go lighter rather than darker.
- If lightening your hair is your objective then here are some tried and true remedies.
- Rinse your hair with hot water. The hotter the better as this will lighten the dye.
- Wash with a non-color-safe clarifying shampoo. The shampoo should be used as soon as possible after your unsatisfactory coloring.
- Condition afterward. After scrubbing your hair with the clarifying shampoo, youll want to give your hair a good conditioning job.
- Combine 2 cups of baking soda and 1/4 cup of clarifying shampoo in a non-metal bowl. Shampoo hair with this mixture and let it set 5-15 minutes. The length of time will depend on how much colr you wish to remove. This may have to be done more than once.
