Germs cause bad breath, as well as certain foods. Make sure all areas of your mouth are well cleaned; tongue, gums and palate. Flossing is also crucial as food gets trapped in between teeth. After all is done, finish with a good germ killing mouth wash. Allow a good 3-4 minutes to do all of this. Don't rush.
I also learned from attending a Dr Oz show that yogurt is the best food to eat to reduce bad breath as it neutralizes the stomach. Makes sense to me.

Most really bad breath is caused by bad teeth and gum disease. Nothing smells worse. Before anyone tries any home remedies they need a through dental checkup. Not only do bad teeth and gums smell terrible but they can poisen your system. These days many surgeons won't perform certain surgeries unless the patient's teeth are examined and corrected first. Bad teeth and gums can cause heart problems also.
