One member of my family insists on stuffing cooked in the turkey at Thanksgiving. I do that, as well as a separate casserole of stuffing. I noticed that much of the stuffing that goes into the bird gets stuck in the nooks and crannies. And it's kind of a pain to stuff the bird and have to find a way to keep it from spilling out.
My solution is to wrap the stuffing in a cheesecloth package and simply put it into the turkey. Make sure it reaches 165° Fahrenheit. Make sure you are using cheesecloth that is food safe, like the one I have pictured, and tie the ends with kitchen twine, which is burn resistant.
Once the turkey has rested after roasting, the stuffing is easily removed with tongs. And nothing is left behind. Everyone is happy!
