I loved the long cord for our wall phone until it started getting tangled up. It was at least 25 years old and I thought it was time to purchase a new one.
I found one at Walmart and tried it but it was not as long as my old one and I did not like it. After a few weeks, I replaced it with one I purchased from Best Buy thinking it would be better and it turned out to be about the same and still not as long as the old one. Plus, both of them tangled.
Thankfully, I had not disposed of the old cord mainly because I had read a post on ThriftyFun that old telephone cords can be used for tying up tomatoes. I pulled it out of the closet and put a hook on the wall to hold the cord apart so the hanging cords do not touch. I plugged it up and it has worked great. No tangling, not even once.
I'm back in business. I can talk on the phone and cook in the kitchen at the same time. Thanks to a ThriftyFun gardening tip, I did not throw that old cord away.

love the long cords. will use this idea in my new home. thanks
Hi, I really want a long phone cord like yours! I have a vintage snoopy phone but I want a long cord so I can talk to people while walking and doing my business inside the house, right now Im tied to sitting by my foyer chair just to talk to somebody. Ugh! So annoying, I have looked every where but couldnt find a long cord I even bought a 50 feet cord but it only stretch out to 3 and a half feet. Should I just buy a bunch of 50, or 25 feet curly cords and splice them together to make a long cord?
I can't find a cord like mine anywhere. I'm still using this same cord. You may want to invest in the cordless phone which sits in a charger.
