Tulip Straw Flowers - paper flowers in a white potDoes your child love flowers like my daughter? I made a bunch of these tulip straw flowers and put them in a pot as a home decoration for her play kitchen. She loves to take the flowers out of the pot and pretend to smell them and give them to her teddy bears. This is an easy "toy" prop that is free and gives your child joy!

Total Time: 25 minutes

Supplies:

  • paper straws
  • hot glue
  • construction paper
  • scissors
  • hole puncher
  • ceramic or plastic container, optional
Tulip Straw Flowers - supplies
 

Steps:

  1. Freehand and cut tulip shaped flowers.
    2. Tulip Straw Flowers
     
  2. Freehand and cut leaves out.
    3. Tulip Straw Flowers - paper leaves
     
  3. Fold each tulip accordion style as pictured.
    4. Tulip Straw Flowers - fold tulip accordion style
     
  4. Hole punch the center of the folded tulip.
    5. Tulip Straw Flowers - hole punch the center of the folded flower

  5. Unfold tulip and thread paper straw into the hole.
    6. Tulip Straw Flowers - unfold the flower and insert the straw into the hole
     
    Tulip Straw Flowers - spread the flower open
     
  6. Hot glue a leaf into place.
    7. Tulip Straw Flowers - hot glue a leaf in place
     
  7. Repeat the process until you have the amount of flowers you'd like! Then I finished this up by putting the flowers into a pot.
    8. Tulip Straw Flowers - repeat on other flowers
