Cook chicken in 4 cups water until tender. Discard skin and de-bone. Skim fat from broth if necessary. Cook macaroni and drain. Mix flour and 1/2 cup water. Bring broth to a boil, adding flour mixture slowly to thicken, stirring constantly. Add cubed or sliced cheese and allow to melt. Combine chicken, macaroni and sauce. Pour into a 9x13 inch pan or casserole dish. Top with bread that has been buttered, but not browned. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes or until brown and bubbly.
