Husqvarna Riding Mower Won't Start?

I have an LTH 130 Husqvarna riding lawn mower that won't start. It has clean fuel and new filters. I know the battery is bad, however if you take jumper cables and touch the starter it just sounds like it's starting, but won't catch. I am not sure what to do.

There are many things that can go wrong. Here is an excellent guide. www.hunker.com/.../how-to-troubleshoot-a-husqvarna-riding...

first you probably want to fix your battery if you know it's bad. Secondly, the connector for the battery and ignition is probably bad (and is in fact probably what damaged the battery) so you need to have that replaced

They have a great website with videos and decent customer services! I would go right to the horse's mouth to ask. I would hate to see you try some bad advice and make things worse! I have been down that road and it is not fun and can be VERY expensive.

First - think about purchasing a new correct size battery and new cables as you know you need these items.

  • You do not say how long it has been since your mower was running properly but since you mention clean fuel and new filters it appears you have been having problems and this "won't start" is just a continuation of problems.
  • This is an older model (made between 1996-2011 but most were made before 2002) so some parts will begin being difficult to find but if it is running it appears to a well liked mower.

  • If you have not had this mower running before (or not for a long time) I would suggest you have a full service check by one of Husqvarna's service technicians as there are probably several things that may need replacing - especially to check belts, fuses, cables and switches. This will be expensive (get an estimate first) but should be well worth it in the seasons to come. Also, as information, the estimate may list some of the items that will need to be replaced.
  • It is not easy to get actual technical help from the Husqvarna service center but they do have a community site that knowledgeable people answer questions and offer solutions. This is an easy site to use and you can continue to ask questions until you have the answers you need (and your mower is running).

  • Just in case you do not have a manual, you can download and print one from this site:
