I just changed the valve on my Whirlpool gs6haxls03 fridge because the ice maker was not working. Now every time the drinking water paddle is pushed it dispenses water into the ice tray and overflows into the freezer.

If the valve was just changed it sound like there is an issue with the work that has been done. I think that one of the hoses has been put on wrong or that you have not gotten it tightened enough which is causing the water to leak into the ice maker. I would take it apart and check how it has been installed first. If you are till having an issue make sure you check to see if the gaskets are in place to seal the hoses tight on the new valve.

Looks like shoddy craftsmanship. It shouldnot have done that after fixing it.
