I'm very curious as to what this bug is. This is the first time Ive seen it and am terrified it's a bed bug. Can someone ID if this is a bed bug or another type of bug?

You do not say where you found this bug but it's almost a certainty that this is a bed bug.
Probably one of the most devastating things anyone wants to hear and wherever this bug was found, it's for sure there will be hundreds more within a short period of time.
Getting rid of a bedbug infestation is a very difficult and time consuming job as these bugs do not just infest bedding but almost anything in a home - even cracks and crevices in wood furniture.
If this is in your home/apartment then you (or someone) needs to take action ASAP to stop the spread of these bugs.
You can call a professional service or take your pictures to a good hardware store and ask for help.
If this bug is some place other than your home then you need to be certain you are not carrying them home with you by getting rid of anything you have around this area.
There is a lot of information online about how to eliminate these bugs so someone should start reading and spend the time it will take to kill ALL of these bugs.

You did not specify the size of this bug, but I can compare it to your nail in the photo. Thus, this bug has a very small size, about 2 mm.
This bug looks like an adult male bed bug, but adult male bed bug is about 5.5 mm - a little less than half of your nail. Second stage bed bug larvae has a size of 2 mm. But even in the bed bug larva, you can distinguish the head. You've added a pretty good photo. I enlarged the photo and saw that the head of your bug hardly stands out (see attached screenshot). Therefore, I have doubts that this is a bed bug.
It seems to me that this is most likely a tick. The size and shape of your bug matches, but ticks have not pointed abdomen. I cannot understand from your photo that your bug really has a pointed abdomen. Check it, please.
Also in the photo, I cannot understand how many legs your but has. Ticks have 8 legs, whereas bed bugs only have 6 legs.
Please inspect your beetle again and clarify its description.
Have you ever found such beetles? Bed bugs reproduce rapidly and can quickly overtake your bedroom with clusters numbering in the thousands, ticks are solitary creatures.
Ticks, meanwhile, live outside in grassy, wooded areas. Have you been out in nature lately or do you have a pet that goes out for a walk?
I need more information to be able to accurately answer this question.
It sure looks like a bedbug to me. Take it to an Ace or True Value store and ask them, as they are pretty good at identifying pests.
