Help me solve a 30 year old mystery. My best friend has been searching for this particular rabbit toy from her childhood for 30 years. I am trying to help her with identifying what this rabbit might be and where to find it. I've created a photoshop mock-up of the characteristics she remembers it having. It was a yellow rabbit with a torso/mid section about the size of a soft ball. It was purchased in 1990 in a 'hospital giftshop' according to her father who is the person that originally purchased it. But memory is hazey after so long. It was purchased on the East coast, United States. It may be from the 80s, given how early into the 90s it was. Similar looking toys come up under names like "Russ" many times while searching online, but I'm not entirely sure that's the brand name.
The rabbit had:
1. "Some kind of floral pattern in the ears and on the soles of the feet"
2. May have had a bow around the neck (unsure)
3. Had a pink hard plastic nose with some kind of felt or flocking coating
4. Was yellow all over except for the cheeks/muzzle
5. The cheeks were slightly fuzzier
6. The limbs aren't very large/long
I'm not sure what types of stores there might have been in the hospital where it was purchased, but google image results show me a lot of hallmark and similar gift shop related results that always look almost similar enough, but I don't know how good a lead that is.
If we can find an image, a brand name, a maker, a company, any kind of lead would be of tremendous use. The ultimate goal is to purchase one, if one still exists, from whoever made and sold this particular niche stuffie. Does anyone recognize this critter or know of a brand that sold similar stuffies during that time frame?
