Your item is probably a roll top Jewelry box/case, organizer or vanity organizer, but could also be a desk organizer.
The name would depend on the type of dividers in the drawer.
Some had organizers for desk use items, while others had departments for jewelry.
These were probably made in the 50-70s and the only country name tags that I've seen state: made in Taiwan.
Exact and similar items are found in abundance online, and prices seem to range from $20-$45; maybe according to condition..
