My dog just had puppies 3 weeks ago. I noticed a few days ago one of the puppies had hard lumps around its mouth. I have already made the vet appt. for their first visit to get them vaccinated and checked, but it isn't until May 7th. I have called the vet office about this and they are booked into May, but said I can phone every morning to see if I can get in on emergency.
I was hoping someone might know what this is because it has gotten worse. The puppies eyes were open, but are now closed and the lumps are all over its face, plus its ears, neck and there are a few on its body now. I am really worried about him, and hopefully I will get into the vet sooner than later. They're hard lumps, nothing coming out of them and the puppy is not acting sick. I tried to take pics, but couldn't get a good pic of the lumps. But if anyone has seen this before or has any idea what it might be please comment. I have tried to look it up on the internet, but can't find anything. Thank you.

I would tell the vet it is an emergency, and to squeeze you in. Another option is to find another vet.
Sorry i didn't reply sooner, but did get puppy into see the vet and puppy is doing find. The vet did a scarping and told me it was nothing serious, i can't remember what he called it but basically the puppy had puppy acme.
Prayers for the pup! If this vet can't see you, please see if they can tell you someone who can get you in ASAP. My concern for the pup is they are prone to staph infections that can manifest in lumps and bumps which are treatable when caught quickly. Dogs (as they age, get lumps and bumps all the time and most of the time they are nothing, but pups are different).
Please post back what you learn. Healing prayers will continue!
Sorry didn;t get back too you, but puppy is great now,got into see vet. Vet did a scraping and puppy had puppy acme so vet gave me an antibiotic and puppy is good .
Yea!!!! This makes me so happy!! Prayers continued!!
You should enter your pup in the Thrifty Fun pet contest!!! Over the years all of my dogs were contestants!! It is a lot of fun!

This sounds like an emergency to me too. I would tell the Vet that these are increasing and spreading quickly and you are concerned about waiting another week. If you do not get an appointment sooner I would go to another Vet or an emergency Vet. Sometimes the folks at the front desk just arent paying real close attention. Good luck to you and your little guy.
Sorry i didn't get back to you right away but puppy is doing great, got puppy into vet and he did a scraping and puppy just had puppy acmem not a serious thing. So vet gave me an antibiotic and puppy is doing great.
