A few days after I spotted the white insect, those yellow eggs appeared. What is that insect, and did it lay those eggs? If not, what might have left the eggs? I am debating whether or not to remove them for safety. Thanks.

The moth in your home has laid eggs. That is some sort of moth that is in your area that got into your home and has laid eggs.
All things point to an ermine moth. It looks like one and yellow is one of their egg colors.
Inside they are pretty harmless. I would dispose of them outside, unless you have a garden, and then sadly you may want to permanently dispose of them.
The are known to eat garden plants and some shrubs. More of a nuisance than anything though.
Poor moths, they were just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
