This small ceramic baseball glove and ball caught my eye at the thrift store yesterday although I'm not exactly sure what it is used for I bought it. I tried to look up the makers mark and info on it, but had no luck. The closet I came were similar ones that were planters, but they were much bigger and I don't believe this one is hardly big enough for that. It's only as big as the palm of my hand. I'm really hoping someone could please help me in identifying the marks and what it actually is used for. Thank you.

This looks like a piggy bank to me. The rubber plug is missing
Not sure the year...1960s-1970s these were made in paint your own ceramic studios/classes. Sold as ash trays or trinket trays.
Here is an example: www.pinterest.com/
If you have a ceramic studio around that has been there a while, they may be able to tell you if the pattern had a name.
The date is painted in black it says 1972 The word Ban and date 1972 are painted in black The green numbers don't look like they were painted on like the black writing was not sure if they were maybe painted on before the glaze was put on?There isn't a place for a rubber stopper the darker colored little circle is either what was left of where a sticker maybe went?
