How can I differentiate between the different types of vintage Mr. Bim monkeys made by Superior toys and Novelty Incorporated K.C. Mo.?

It is now US Toy Company. You can contact them here: ustoy.com/
I suggest looking on eBay at the various auctions and reading the different descriptions.
There are over 60 active auctions and over 150 completed at the moment.
You can see how people describe the auctions to look for differences and similarities.
I hope this helps you. eBay is where I go to learn. Do be aware that not all sellers are knoweldable, so look for three DIFFERENT sellers if you are seeing conflicting info to verify information.
I hope you find what you need. eBay also good about helping you find values (use SOLD auctions to determine value. Value is what someone actually pays).
Best wishes!! Thanks for asking!!
I did not spend a lot of time researching to find out if there really is a difference in Superior and Toy Novelty as it seems the only true original toys will have tags and the ones with tags show both names; Superior - Toy Novelty.
There were several changes made over the few years they were produced but most features stay true to form of the original (some may have been different sizes).
The original Superior / Toy Novelty Mr. Bim had two black 'pom poms' on his yellow vest and the vest did not go down his sleeves.
Here is a link to one of the original Superior moneys:

The toy you are showing may be made by Columbia Toy Company (but only if it has tags showing the company name).
The Columbia toy has full yellow vest (half sleeves yellow) with red elastic suspenders (with bells).

This one does not have his banana but has tags:

You will find numerous 'knock-offs' but few that can prove they are from the original 2 companies.
Most of the sellers are making claims they cannot prove because without the original tags they are not the genuine toy.
The tags may be faded but they should be in the same spot as the original tags.
Almost all of the sold monkeys on eBay are knock-offs and not made by Columbia or Superior Toy Novelty.
