Can anyone please help identify bugs that have been found on wooden furniture in the children's bedroom under a metal midsleeper bed. Nothing can be found on the mattresses. There are no bite marks either. We have had some damp issues. I have some images that I hope will help. They are black and I have also seen some that appear white/translucent under direct light.

There are so many bugs around it is so hard to say what this one is. Furthermore, it all depends on your regions and what time of year it is to help narrow down this bug.
However, there is a simple way to do this. You can trap one of these bugs and put it in a plastic bag or container and take to one of your local pet control shops. They can ID this bug for you and tell you how to get rid of them in your home.
It could be a bird mite. My niece had them. She needed an exterminator.
