We just moved in to a house and we are finding these in the bathroom and bedrooms. Some fly and some crawl. My anxiety is getting the best if me. The ones on the blue paper are from a plug in light with sticky paper like a zapper, but not a zapper.

The ones on the blue look like hard shelled beetles. I am not sure about the others. Spray with a general purpose insecticide.
HI Judy they are all the same bug.. I just blew them up to get a better view for everyone. Thank you for answering! I thought some kind of beetle?
They look like harmless June bugs. Vacuum them up, scrub everything down, rake up any plant debris from around your house and they should go away.
HI Pghgirl.. they for sure aren't June bugs.. those are big here these are gnat size. I have vacuumed them up and they appeared again.
Oh. Yikes! The picture made them look much bigger.
I had grain beetles once. They came home from the grocery store in a bag of flour. It took days to figure it out. When I did, I had to toss every noodle box, a bag of sugar, a box of rice, and the offending flour, then clean everything down, and then they finally went away.
I now store all flour and sugar in the freezer as soon as I get them one and only buy clear bags of pasta and rice. Never had another issue. Knock on wood.
Post back if you find the source.
I blew up the other pictures from the blue one so everyone can get a close look. I have scrubbed everything. This house is pretty new.. it's about 2 years and a few months old.. They have been here since we moved in. Hopefully we will find out soon.. my anxiety is getting the best of me!
I believe they are a Beatle and you should get your home sprayed for this. They can get out of control rather quickly and you don't want this to happen.
What kind of beetle?

I understand how un-nerving this is. Like I said, I had a similar issue. If worst comes to worse, you could always call in a pro and get the piece of mind of having it sprayed.
Be aware if you have pets or small children or anyone has asthma or other breathing issues it is best to be out of the house for at least 12-14 hours after the treatment. They don't always tell you that, but it is my best practice because I am very sensitive.
Hopefully, this will become one of the stories of family lore...the tale of the insect invasion! Like Bruce Springsteen says...someday we'll look back on this and it will all seem funny!
Blessings!
Thank you for the response!! I had my husband take the sticky paper from the light to an exterminator and he called today and said they are plaster beetles.. I looked them up and they are also known as grain beetles.. He said to vacuum them up and wait it out.. to keep using the bug lights we have plugged in. Basically nothing can kill them.. he said they can spray but it won't kill them all and would probably be a waste of our money.
