The small brown flying bugs are small brown house beetles. There are many varieties of house beetles and some of them do fly around. You can put out some sticky flypaper to trap them and get rid of them. If you see them around your home use your vacuum cleaner and vacuum them up and throw the bag away immediately.

Is there anything made with even a small amount of wool? Carpet? Closet? If any wool is found you may have carpet beetles.
You can always ask your county extension agency for help but you will need a couple of good (rather close up) pictures. They can help you and also give information on killing them.
