Some animals have delicate skin and from time to time have a lump or bump on them.
- A bump can be caused from something picking the dog's skin and getting under the skin. The skin will react to the foreign object inside and form a lump or the skin will close over the object. This needs to be removed by a vet to be safe.
- Dog's do get small tumors on their skin. Normally the tumor will start out small and grow. To be safe you should go to the vet to see if this is serious or not.
- A scratch or bite can also cause the skin to be irritated and a lump forms on the skin. In such a case you will need to clean the area and apply a small amount of antibiotic cream to heal the wound.
- If you see the lump growing or you are worried about this on the dog it is recommended that you go and see your vet. They will know what the problem is and if it is serious or not.

It could be any number of things, from harmless to harmful. A visit to the vet is necessary when there is a skin change in animals or humans

It could be a bite, it could be a bump. Is your dog in pain or itchy? I'd go to the vet.

It could be some kind of bug bite. I would wait a month to see if it goes away. Put duct tape over it to smother it. Takes about a month.
