Wow! That is gorgeous! It looks hand hewn. Oak or pine? Hard to tell by photo.
What do you about it? Has it been in the family for years? Where there craftsman in the family? Does the town where you purchased it have a history of creating hand made furniture? Do you know the age? Does it have any markings? How big is it? Is the top rough or smooth? How are the legs affixed?
It is very hard from a photo to figure it all out.
It will need to be looked at in person to determine if it is a late 1800s piece or something a really talented woodworker built recently.
Because there are so many variables and things I can't feel or examine from a photo, having it reviewed by a reputable antique dealer, in person, can get you started.
Post back with what you learn about this breathtaking piece!
Look underneath for identifying marks. If no one here knows anything about it, show the pictures to a dealer.
Can you look for more identifying marks, perhaps underneath the piece.Names and numbers help !
You will need to look under the table for any type of marking, name, date or whatever you can find. This will make it a lot easier for us to help out to identify this table.
