I don't care about the value, but I'd like to know at least the name and year. I've sifted through a gajillion Google images and auction listings, but I just can't seem to find a visual match. It has a "limited edition" tag around the wrist. The box says 1999 Xmas Doll - Caroline, but it must be the wrong box because Googling that gives me a different doll. Anyone know?

I would upload the picture to the forum at www.dollreference.com. Before you do that, undress the doll and look for markings on the back of the neck, the back, chest, and bottom of the feet.
Since you have already searched for your doll, there is no reason to repeat it but you should open up her dress in the back ans search for any type of marks/names/numbers. Be sure to look on the back of the head slightly under the wig and on her back as this is about the only way someone here may be able to help you.
Pghgirl will check in later and hopefully she can help as she has a lot of doll "knowledge" and may recognize your doll.
I can only suggest you ask your question on a doll forum (these people have a lot of doll knowledge) but be sure to check for markings first. For this forum you will need several pictures (out of the box) as well as size and also pictures of the box (show any words) just in case it means anything.
There aren't any unique marks. It has the same Collectors Choice stamp on the back of the neck that I've seen on dozens of other pictures of different Dandee dolls. I figured since I can't find any unique marks and the box label appears to be wrong my only hope is on the off chance someone might have it or have seen it before.
Unfortunately, to me most of the Victorian Dan Dee International dolls look alike to me (in my memory's eye that is).
You may want to put her on my new favorite Facebook site: Doll & Toy Identification Help. You have to ask to join and they do not permit you to talk about values, but they have a lot of people who have higher identification belts than I do :)
I am guessing by the outfit she is from the 1990s when Victorian dolls were hot, but an exact name and year allude me. The other thing with the Dan Dees is not all have names.
Post back what you learn! Thanks!!
