I have a lantern pendant with no markings or label - nothing in the wiring plate. The pendant resembles what I have seen as rare Venetian glass. The metal is brass and it is about 14 inches tall and 12 inches wide. My mother-in-law received this from a cousin, who was a world traveler and loved art and antiques. It's beautiful and would like to know more about it. Could it be a Murano, Venini, Reticello, or Latticino lantern?

It is lovely. However, with no markings I suspect it is a knockoff.
This is very pretty, and even if it is NOT a "brand" type name as you are asking, it may still have value because of the lovely style. It is timeless--very elegant.
I know there are sites online that offer appraisals but with things like glass, I prefer having them looked at by a person--in person. I know that may be a challenge to take it somewhere since it is hooked up, so maybe someone could come to you.
Depending on who made it, if there is identification it could be in any part of the piece--including the metal where it is affixed to the ceiling (if that piece is original of course).
One tip that is not 100% accurate, but is something that may or may not help...is if there are any imperfections in the glass, the more chance it is one of the famous glass makers/glass styles you mentioned.
Glass like those made in Murano in accordance with their rules and styles were hand blown and often had bubbles or imperfections that gave the piece character. If it is perfectly smooth, it could be a reproduction that was not hand blown--again, that does not mean it has no value--that is when it still has value for style.
I am going to search a few of my sources to see if I can find anything that matches--but again--I am not an expert, so even if I found an exact photographic match, one could be real and one not...glass is tricky like that!!
If you have an expert look at it, post back what you learn!! Thanks for sharing!
