I bought this house plant and it had no info whatsoever. It has long sturdy, variegated leaves; they're a bit damaged. I'm not sure what type of plant it is, but I would like to take care of it properly. Can anyone help me identify it?

Hello ! it is a Dracaena fragrans. It could be the Warneckii or the lindenii type. They prefer light shade or filtered sunlight. Their situation and the age of the plant can change the colours and the pattern of the leaves.
It is a dracaena (cordyline) and it could be the Dracaena reflexa type also called Song of India or Pleomele reflexa. It is difficult to say which type of dracaena it is because the colours and the pattern of the leaves change with the amount of light it receives and also depends on the age of the plant. It grows slowly and it can take weeks before the plant shows reaction to overwatering.
