My grandson adopted a plant in high school, only he doesn't know what it is.

How did he adopt a plant (I guess that means take care of it, right?) without knowing what it is? Does his school have a library?
He is taking a horticulture class. They were given a plant to adopt, and find the name.
It looks like some kind of an ivy. The leaves are droopy. It should be watered.
I think it might also be pot bound.
Poor plant needs a good drink and some light! It is good your grandson adopted it before it withered away!! Plants are people too (at least in my house)!
I am usually good at IDs, but this one has me puzzled. I thought it may be a variety of pothos, but it is not quite right. I don't think it is ivy as there are not the right cuts to the leaves.
