It may be one of the 100 varieties of Hypoestes phyllostachya

I have not seen one in person, but have seen pictures of them. Hopefully someone where will know how to grow them and keep them happy!!

It is a begonia, called Tamaya or bambou begonia. As the leaves can be dark green or green with little white dots, its official name is Begonia maculata. It is a beautiful plant and easy to grow but you have to think in advance of the size of the pot and the volume it will take when fully grown because from my experience it doesn't like to be cut back or repotted.
