I think it is a Hosta. It is easy to care for, and it doesnt like heat or a lot of sun.

Hello. Looks like you have a purple wandering Jew plant:

You can double check me with this image. They are very hearty plants and you can start them easily to make many more!

They are on the messy side if you don't keep up with the leaves.

Enjoy it!! They do add a bit of whimsy to the room!

Your pretty plant is called Wandering Jew but there are 3 species and yours is the variegated green (has some purple on the leaves sometimes) and the "official" name is Tradescantia zebrine.

  • There are a lot of articles on the Internet about how to care for these plants but this site has information/pictures on the 3 species of the Wandering Jew as well as how to care for your plant indoors and outdoors.

  • If you live in USDA zone 9 or above you will be able to grow your plant outside as it grows best in 50 to 80 degrees year round.
  • Indoors the recommended temperature is between 65 and 70 degrees and needs a sunny location.
  • If you do not know your USDA zone you can check it from this link:

Hi,

This plant, the Wandering Jew, is my favorite plant. You can take any 4 inch clipping from it and start a new plant.

They like a room that is bright- but not to be directly in the sun. The soil should be just a little moist but not soggy. They are absolutely beautiful.

Here is a link to their care:

Have a wonderful day!
