I have a houseplant conundrum. I was given this plant when an office closed down. No one knows what it is and when I first got it, it was on the brink of death. I've gotten it back to a heathy state and it has even started producing some new foliage. However, I still have no idea what it is or how to best care for it. I am just kind of flying by the seat of my pants and doing what seems to work for my other plants.
It has a dark green center and light green stripes on the topside of the leaves, but the underside of the leaf is a deep burgundy red. The leaf stems are also this same burgundy color. The leaves are smooth and waxy. No flowers or anything, as of yet.
I have found some plants online that are close, but definitely not the same.
Anyone have any hints?

i believe your plant is a Calathea and is very easy to care for. There are lots of pictures and information on the Internet to check if this is your plant.
I have listed one link with care instructions.
It could be a type of philodendron. Just keep doing what you are doing. T
This is a Calathea Peacock or Zebra plant. They are easy to care for and need watering once or twice a week.
