I bought this at a supermarket and it didn't have the name of the plant. I suspect it is a philodendron, but I can't find any images on the web that have these particular leaves. I would appreciate any advice.

This is a type of dieffenbachia.
Thanks, Judy. Do you know the species? When I search for pictures on the web for both Dieffenbachia and, attosa, Chinese Evergreen, I can't find any that have such clearly defined lines around the green parts. Any thoughts on this?
Perhaps its a Chinese evergreen
I believe your plant is in the Calathea family and may be a Calathea concinna or a Peacock Plant, Zebra Plant or Rattlesnake Plant as they are all similar and sometimes called by all names.

Yup, that's it; an exact match with the photos. Thanks for identifying it and for the care tips. Thanks to all for responding so quickly!
This is a nice plant - just remember over watering is its worst enemy.
Thanks! I think it's just beautiful.
It looks like a Watermelon peperomia.
It's close. But notice how all the stripes on the Watermelon peperomia come together at one point, whereas on mine they look like they're going down the "stem."
