Identifying a Porcelain Doll?

Identifying a Porcelain Doll - crying dollCan anyone tell me anything about this doll or doll maker? I know nothing about dolls, but was intrigued by her at a thrift store and bought it for $5. She has Morning marked on her neck. She's so creepy and cool! She has tears and all.

Any info is greatly appreciated!

This is a mass-produced doll. There were 2500 of them made. Its worth about what you paid

She is something else! I think I would have bought her also. Her name is Lila and she is from the Morning Doll Collection.

I never saw her before, but she reminds me of a doll that an artist around here used for a horror display (with all kinds of funky make up, blood and gore). I wish I had a link for that show...sadly I can't even remember exactly where it was...maybe a haunted house?

Anyhow...sorry for the digression...she is quite unique as most dolls are smiling and happy!

Cybergrannie gave you a link to a current one on eBay. Set up a watch for her and see what she goes for. If she gets the full 24 and some change...that is her current market value.

If the seller accepts best offer, then her value is anywhere from one cent to one cent under selling price (typically from my experience you can figure 20% off the asking price).

If she were mine, I would just hold on to her. People are purging their dolls like crazy these days and maybe in 10-15 years she will gain value again because everyone who is tossing their dolls today will get nostalgic and want them back!

The market is a funny thing like that!

These are not collector dolls and normally mass produced around the holidays for young girls. This doll normally resells for around $5 to $20 at most.

It is a nice doll and I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
