My sister had one of these (or one very similar when we were kids). I found one in a retail shop and I bought it for my daughter. I would love to know the history about this doll, but there are no markings and I'm not too doll savvy. If anyone could help I'd love to know something about her. She's about 29 inches long and is wearing the original outfit we bought her in (she has black shoes, but they are not on in the pic, and her hair was not originally pulled back). I've attached a pic of her and her bottom so you can kind of see her insides. She is stuffed with some dark wool like material? I think.

My best guess is she is a kit doll where a mom, aunt, granny or collector made her in a class.
Most manufactured dolls were not stuffed with a stuffing with a color to it.
Is there any markings on her skull or back of the neck. Sometimes mold numbers are there and that could help figure out who she is.
You can get a second opinion...There are some really good Facebook groups that help people ID dolls...you may want to try this doll there.
The group I like the best is called "let's id our dolls". You can join and then post the doll. Do not ask for values--all they do is help ID dolls.
You will have to answer some questions to join and give as many details as you can on the doll.
Post back with an update!! Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you, I will check that group out! And let you know if I find anything out. She has no markings any where on her head/neck so I hope someone knows something about her.
Lovely!! Post back what you learn!
If she has no markings it is probably a mass-produced doll and will be hard to identify
Cool!! There is a niche marked for what are considered Walda dolls. That isn't a brand exactly, but a style of doll.
Here is some history on Waldas
This video is great and gives you all the info you need to know!!
They fetch 2-10 dollars on average on eBay. You maybe able to sell in a local venue easier since shipping will cost more than the doll.
She is very cute!! I am so glad she has a genre ID!! You can advertise her as a Walda but be sure not to call it a brand just say style, give the measurements, if the arms and legs and head are jointed etc.
The better the description, the better chance you have to sell her.
Post back with an update! Thanks for letting me know!! I just learned about Waldas a few months ago so I am still learning and can't ID them at a glance yet. I will get there eventually!
Thank you for the link! I do not intend on selling her. She is my 7 1/2 year old daughter's doll, and she adores this doll more than any toy or doll she has, and has carries her everywhere she goes for months now. We were just wanting to know more about her. I love old things and my daughter loves to imagine the "life "she has "lived' with the information we gain about her.
Your message warmed my heart!!! Dolls were meant to be loved and not sat on a shelf to collect dust and be stared at. I had one particular doll when I was very young that I still remember fondly!! She is creating memries that will last a life time and is developing her imagination which is so important!!
That is so sweet that your daughter imagines the life the dolly lived!!
Your post should go on every doll posting where someone wants to sell a doll...with the answer not to sell, but to find a child to love the doll!!
Blessings to your sweet daughter and to you!! Your post truly made my week!
