Can anyone identify this tiny 3 inch doll body? I found it washed up to shore while on a walk. The numbers 5023 are on the back of the head.

It looks old and may have value. Upload the pictures to the forum at www.dollreference.com
It is a vintage bisque doll. Prices vary. With the arms and legs and dressed 50 bucks but like anything else area makes a difference demand etc...
It has the look of what would have been a 6 or 6 1/2 inch German bisque child doll. The arms and legs would have been wired on making them movable.
Here is one very similar:

There were a large number of German doll makers early in the 20th century so it may take a little digging to figure out exactly who made it.
It looks surprisingly good for being in water.
If you were going to sell it, do your research on eBay by searching sold auctions using phrases like "bisque doll parts only" or "Bisque doll for repair".
Many sell and can range from $10 up.
If she were mine and I was selling, I would let the market dictate the value with a 7 day auction starting at 9.99 and see if it goes up.
If it doesn't, you can try a 7 day auction the following week and drop the price to $5.99.
Be sure to wrap it carefully and weigh and measure the box carefully to meet the new USPS DIM (dimensional) postage (if you are in the US that is). If you are outside the US, follow your postal service requirements for shipping info.
Post back what you decide to do with it. There are two audiences for her....doll collectors and steampunk artists. You could market her both ways.
