Does anyone know what type of cabinet this is? I'm not sure if it is even an antique? I picked it up on the side of the road today. It is about 74" tall by 16" wide by 12" deep. It has one pull out drawer on the bottom, shelves inside, and a bolt latch to close the door.
Thanks so much!

Most likely, this is a freestanding linen cabinet. It's last owner may not have used it as one, but may have stored CD's, DVD's, VHS tapes, or even used it as a bookcase. Have you checked the back or bottom of the cabinet for any kind of date, name, label, or maker's signature? Same for the back or bottom of the drawer? I searched several sites and found lots of linen cabinets of similar size, but none that looked just like yours.
It could be for sweaters, socks or items that could fit in a narrow space.
First and foremost it just amazes me what people throw away! This was truly a great find. The carvings and cutouts are unique and the latch giving a old world rustic charm. I am unsure of the age, it could be older or reproduced to look older. A professional can help , sense you do not have a brand name , reference numbers, etc.
