It looks like a hard-shelled beetle.
If it looks like a ladybug with more spots it is an Asian beetle www.ladybuglady.com/
They can be aggressive and love to get in your face. While I have never been bitten by one, friends have.
One or two can be vacuumed up and disposed of in the trash away from the house. If you have more, you may need to call in the pros.
If it isn't an Asian Beetle, you may want to take it in a jar to your local hardware store or garden center for a positive ID.
