I need help identifying this plush gray and white striped tabby cat. It was a stuffed animal that I got for my daughter some 20-plus years ago, that my grandbaby fell in love with and that became her best friend. The tags are completely wore off unfortunately and of course as all things happen, her kitty kitty got left at McDonald's and then got thrown away.
I have searched the internet for weeks on end. I found some that are close to it, but not quite exactly it. It felt like I was part bean bag part plush. Any hope finding the stuffed animal would be a godsend.

Send the pictures to Applause and Gund. They were popular at that time.
I didn't know that I could send the pictures to the companies?!!! That's awesome
Poor punkin! How sad to lose a beloved friend.
There were so many brand and not brand plushies in the 1990s that you may have a challenge finding exactly who made it and then finding it online.
If I may suggest, I put a description in eBay and it popped up with a bunch of very close toys:

You could always see if you could get a close fit until you can find the real one.
I know Ikea had a line of plush that looked similar, so did all of the five and dime stores of the day. Some of those have no brand name...so finding one may be like a needle in a haystack even if you get an good ID on yours.
My other suggestion is if you find two that are very close, get them to have a back up. A friend did this and it was a lesson we used with the nephews--at one point I think we had 4 back up Brown Bears since a certain someone would have a melt down if the bear was not around when he needed it. You do what you have to do right!!
Blessings!! Post back with an update!
Thank you so much for all your good ideas. Yeah she's devastated without her kitty kitty. She's also fond of one of her beanie babies, that my daughter had. Cuckoo is its name and I'll tell you what we've got 2 back ups. Especially cuz it was retired in like 1990 something.
Hope it all works!! I like cybergrannies' suggestions too!! Blessings!
Situations like this call for serious attention.
Are these recent photos of your granddaughter? Or is she older?
The reason I ask is because if she is a little older she may be able to understand a made up story about her cat.
There are several sites that have these types of pets so look around before you make any decisions.
I have even picked out several pictures and ask the child if they would like to choose their own new pet. Be careful with this and do not show any pictures of pets you do not wish to buy (too expensive or?).

You can also check eBay, Etsy and other sites for vintage plush vintage Tabby cat - search with size (inches) and without.

This group will help you with information on company/brand and any ideas they have on finding one.
Just be aware that getting information on the cat may not help you very much as you may never locate an identical one for sale.

You can post a picture here and if someone recognizes it they can contact you with information.

If you have Google Lens (formally Google Goggles) you can post a picture and see if this site can locate your kitty.
If all else fails, visit thrift stores and buy as many as you think she might 'look' at (usually cost is very low) and just place them around for her to 'find'.
Be sure you clean any used toys before you let her see them.

I hope you find her!! Blessings to all!
