I love this wood, hand carved vintage doll! But, again, I'm needing some information on her creator. Thank you for your help!

This definitely looks handmade. It might be from an Amish community. I dont think it is very valuable.
This is so cool!! I hope what you have is one of the ones that are quite valuable--in the primitive doll world.
This looks like a peg jointed hand carved doll and if she is "real" and not a "knock off" she could be as old as the 1800s.
I need to really sit down with my computer where I can blow up the photos and study the face and joints. Does the dress come off? Can you post a photo without the dress?
There are two famous makers that made dolls that look very similar to yours:
Grodner Tal and Fred Laughon.
I am leaning toward the first, but haven't done enough studying to see if I can verify this.
I have a bunch of questions so we can get you a good answer:
Can you take the dress off and post a photo without the dress? Post front and back please.
Can you please tell me how tall is she?
What does the inside of the dress look like--I am assuming it is hand seamed?
Is the head carved wood or paper mache? Paper mache sounds hollow, wood sounds solid if you tap it.
I will keep researching as soon as I get more info. I just learned about these recently, so I hope I am not jumping the gun and getting you all excited for no reason.
This is so cool!!
Thank you for your POSITIVE thoughts on this gal! Shes 11 tall and her head and body are made out of wood. Ill post some more picks. I got her under garments off, but dont want to rip her dress to get it off.
Sorry, shes 11.5 inches. I think youre correct! She appears to be a Gronertal (is he Amish?) lol...
I thought her head might be wood, but it sounds hollow...not sure what its made of?
Here is a sample of the grodnertal dolls:

The hands on yours (if this is a true vintage doll) may have been damaged and smoothed out, which may affect value.
I do not thing the outfit is original. The original outfits I have found are much more primitive, although yours is quite rustic.
I am going to continue to research. In the meantime, if you have an antique store in your town that is reputable, I suggest calling them and having them look at it. My first thought is to separate the doll and the outfit if you are planning to sell as they each may have a higher value on their own.
More to follow as I study this!!
Be very careful with her!! The more I research, I think it is going to take a true expert vs. someone like me who loves dolls and has snippets of knowledge to verify this lovely.
If you don't have a good antique store in your town, maybe one of these doll museums can offer you some assistance:

I would want an expert to certify who she is. That will help you with the value!
Please post back with an update!!
She is amazing!!! Thanks for sharing additional photos!! The more I see and the more I research, I can't wait to hear what an expert tells you!!
If she is not an original, she is an amazing copy.
Good question about Gronertal. I am not clear if it is a person or a company or a style or all 3. I am much more versed in German porcelain dolls and just started down the path of wooden dolls (and paper dolls) of all kinds so I am learning as fast as I can.
I hope one of the doll museums can help you since you have such good photos!
Thanks again for the additional info.
I am so excited for you that you may have a true treasure!
