This chair has a tag that says Charlotte Chair Company made for W. J. Sloane.
I can't find anything online about it. It has an adjustable seat. If anyone has some information they can share about it, that would be appreciated. Could it be a piano chair?

Here is a little history about this company. The company was started back in 1912 by E.J. Elles and Frank Spaulding. Later on E.J. Elles became the sole owner of this company. The company is located in North Cochran where the James Brandt Company is now. The company basically only made dinning chairs where they a special patented locking method for securing the seat and arms to the back. There is a bit more history on this company if you are interested in reading about it. Here is the link charlottelibrary.org/
Such a puzzle! I need to do some more research. There is so much info on both companies out there, that it is surprising that there is no match to this chair. I found the same back on a 1920s dining room chair, but different seat and legs.
I found the legs on an office chair.
Can you show the underside of the chair and tell me how tall it is? I am wondering if you have either a franken piece where someone cobbled together pieces to make a chair or if it is a custom chair or if I am just missing something.
It appears to be a vanity or office height, but not positive.
Maybe with a little more information and digging I can help more. I love a good furniture puzzle!!
