I am looking to identify this 1988 stuffed elephant made of silk. It was given to me in 1988 and has been well-loved (obviously). When I first got it she was in a pink dress with bows and ribbons. I really hope someone might be able to help me, please! I've been looking for years.

The way the elephant is made and sewn together it sure looks like pattern a person used to make this adorable little toy with. I can see where it has fallen apart several times and been sewn back together. I know when I was around 11 I would go visit one of our neighbors after school and she would help me to sew up some stuffed animals for my two younger brothers for Christmas. My baby brother had a stuffed pink elephant with purple poker dots on it that he just loved so much. One time when we were going to visit my other grandmother he lost his elephant at one of the airports and he cried the entire trip and even when we got back home.
This looks like it is a handmade toy so I'm not sure it is identifiable by any brand name.
Take your pictures and story to social media! With so many online, there is bound to be someone who knows and has knowledge of this stuffed toy. Give your story and concerns , send to facebook, twitter , insta- gram etc. There is someone who will have or had this toy. Good luck!
I'm not sure about this one.
You may find someone that recognizes your elephant or something similar on one of these sites.
You'll have to join the groups but post your picture and tell them your story - hope someone can help.

Are you positive it was silk and not rayon? Where are you located?
I can tell you exactly what that teddy it is. It's by Dan Dee plush toys, the material is Parachute and it is extremely rare. In good condition it's worth alit of money. The closest thing I could find yours might have been from your description is linked below.

It's a puffalump by the looks of it. Mine looks similar now too but mines a rabbit. Mine was handmade unlike the fisher price ones
