My sister (born in 1982) got this unicorn doll when she was in kindergarten. It used to have a yellow horn that was sewn on. I have Googled myself to death trying to figure out even what brand this is or where it came from. I can't find anything like it. It it all white, excluding the yellow horn that's missing in the picture.
We can't remember if it was new when she got it, or used. So this could be from the 70s, early 80s, or late 80s, I just don't know. It has gone missing over the years so I have no tag identification to share. I'm really hoping someone recognizes it! Her b-day is coming up and I want to surprise her with it!

Popular companies that made stuffed toys were Applause and Gund. Toys r Us also sold stuffed toys under their label.

Dakin was a popular maker!
What a fun idea for her birthday! Post back with an update!
I have sent the pictures I have to the seller and asked them if they think it may be the same. I guess my sister's was so worn and raggedy that it's hard for me to see it as the same. My gut is telling me that it is the right one, however.
When I was Googling I couldn't find anything larger than the 10" Dakin unicorn and I knew it was much larger than that.
I am 98% sure you have solved my mystery, and it only took a day! I will post an update when I hear back from the seller! Thank you so much for taking the time to research this for me!
The only thing that I notice is that I distinctly remember hers having blue eyes. These seem to be black.
I sure hope I solved it!!! We sold so many of these when I worked in retail!! They were quite popular!!
