Identifying an Antique Table?

Identifying an Antique Table - black and white photo of the unique legs on this tableI inherited this table from my dad some years ago, and am working on redoing it now. It is 35" in diameter, and has a pedestal base. The age is uncertain, but it was in my home when I was very young, and so I know it is at least seventy years old, but could be older. The underside is marked, Crowley, LA. That makes sense since I was born in New Orleans.

My dad put a piece of Formica on top, for some reason, and the top has lots of divots and damaged spaces, which leads me to believe it is much older. In sanding the legs, I now see that the legs are put together in about one inch strips, and seem to be solid. I think the table is figured oak. The claw feet are in good shape. If anyone has any ideas on the type, age, etc., please let me know.

Thanks.

This is hard to call, it looks like it is part of or missing pieces to complete it. I would take more pictures and send them to a antiques dealer in your childhood place.

I'm sorry but I cannot get any idea of what your table looks like from your pictures.
Maybe you could take some pictures of the table sitting up right - full table from floor to top - front and sides - also of the top and just the underneath looking down at the table. Close up of legs with table setting upright.

Sorry - maybe others can see more than me but it is difficult to research without good pictures of the table itself.

Not being able to find any information about Crowley, LA or what company made tables from there is a bit difficult to help out. Your best bet is to talk with an antique dealer in your area. They know quite a bit about tables from different areas with marking on them and the design of the table.

I would either upload some really good images to an antiques site online or take them with you and visit an antique shop in your area.
